As I mentioned in my “Confessions” post and on my home page, my blog has an entirely new look.

If you are new to blogging like I am (I began last July), I highly recommend investing in a “premium” theme rather than spending as much time as I did switching around using free word press themes. More times than I can count my theme corrupted the formatting and I had to meet the challenge (with my IT specialist son’s help) of reconfiguring using back door procedures. I did not enjoy those long periods when I had to devote hours fixing my blog rather than posting content. I hate instructions and have no patience for any sort of software that is not intuitive. I simply want to learn as I go. When I hit a wall I ask for help.

The only benefit that I can report on using the free themes is that I learned along the way what I wanted so that I could make an informed choice when it was time to buy a theme. I went with Organic Themes (OrganicThemes.com). They offer a great deal of online user support. I have been able to solve my formatting problems with their help within minutes rather than hours. They are very supportive of newbies as well as those like me who only know enough to really cause a mess. I want to stay out of the code as much as I can and they have provided me with code to copy and paste when I wanted to change the font of my title, etc. – even I can’t mess it up!
